If you want to be where the heart of new Dubai is, then look no further than the Dubai Multi Commodities Center "DMCC", this free zone was established by royal decree in 2002 in order to enhance the commodity trade in Dubai. The Free Zone soon become the heart of commerce as non-commodity firms decided to open up new companies in this cosmopolitan area. Now 75,000 people live and work in this diverse area catering to all types of major international firms as well as SME's.
Currently, 200 companies are setting up in the DMCC each month. Over 8000 companies have already established themselves in a very short period. It has taken over from free zones that were established decades before to be the leader amongst all. The DMCC management is fully dedicated to reach new heights over the coming years by launching projects such as Expo 2020 Tower, which will be one of the largest commercial towers in the region. The current holder of this title is Almas Tower, which serves as the headquarters of the DMCC Free Zone Authority.
